Arabella Thomson
Psychotherapist
I am a Psychologist and attachment informed therapist working in the Dandenong Ranges, Melbourne. I work across the lifespan with individuals, where there has been adjustment challenges (disorder); for example, starting a new school, making new friends, moving to a new location, financial pressures, commencing a new job or dealing with promotions.
In addition, I work with attachment fractures, traumas, and personality difficulties. I assist individuals to move from feeling overwhelmed by change(s) or life circumstance(s), back into their window of tolerance, by promoting and building well-being, self-esteem and confidence.
My principal approach is attachment and adjustment. I work in a systemic way, with part and whole systems, with a focus on play therapy, object relations, interpersonal and intrapersonal stages of development, and part theory. Counselling and coaching are also offered to promote active participation in the life pathway and challenges.
My interventions include:
I love being with children and helping children to feel better. I am a mum, and I live in the Dandenong Ranges. We have two Kookaburras who feed in our garden every day, and we have a little possum who lives in our alcove. We call her Possie. I love going for walks in the Dandenongs, and taking my daughter to the park. I look forward to meeting you and hearing about what you like to do.
